I have been saying it for year, there are other race tracks that run on Friday nights and they have done everything they can to get fans to come down and give them a try. This past Friday night was the 1st bad surface of the year as far as dust, yet the racing was awesome.
But I guess its just easier to **** and moan about how bad a race track is then to go see another race track.

Curious which race you attended at Williams Grove this year, according to your signature?
On the whole track prep deal, I don't claim to have the answer as I have zero experience with it but really, is it that much of a black magic, how hard can it really be?
Fred Putney does a great job, no doubt, but is he really the dirt whisperer? It seems to me, and I could be way off base in saying this, that it's a basic common sense issue of execution. You can see what the surface is and how it is changing / reacting. What do you need to do to improve it or maintain it? The Grove seems to either throw their collective hands in the air and go "Well, no one else is gonna come through the gate at this point, let it go", or they just truly don't know what the hell they're doing and don't care or want to improve things.
If I was the pink haired lady or Justin and I was obviously aware of the continual comments and complaints of my customers, I would place a very pleasant and humble phone call to Mr. Fred Putney and bring him down on a consultant basis once or twice and pay the man for his appropriate help and opinion. Seems logical to me that's what any owner / promoter would do, or want to do. Any maybe that right there is wherein lies the problem.
Just like Ron White says, "You can fix poor and you can fix fat, but ya caint fix ugly and ya caint fix stupid".
