Those things are nothing short of awesome! I haven't been to the "Big O" in 40 years; I think the wife and I will make a weekend trip there this summer.

The last time I was there, the walls were concrete covered with plate steel. Crashes into those walls almost always resulted in a junked racecar and a badly beat-up driver. Now I see they have Safer Barriers. Oswego was the first track I was ever at that pre-staged every event. Any car not lined up in the correct starting order on the frontstretch pit exit lane by the last lap of the previous event went to the rear. How chilly do the evenings get up there near the Canadian border? The covered grandstand had overhead propane-fired heaters! We were there in June and by the end of the heat races, those heaters were cycling on and off.

I know I too really miss Jennerstown. Speed between the two tracks is pretty close too.

EdC one of the things I really enjoy about the supers is each car is different. Nice to see American innovation is still alive and well.

Thanks Guys!

That same innovation is sadly absent from today's sprint cars. Obviously, some wing designs work better than others for each super modified but our sprint car teams don't have the option of experimenting with wings, tires and several other things. Local, grass roots racing shouldn't be like that - corporate America is not sponsoring sprint cars to nearly the same extent as in NAPCAR so why must our cars be cookie-cutter like NAPCAR's?

I guess it's like the WoO tech official told me when I asked why the KKR and Mark Smith hoods caused a hood rule to be created a year or two ago: "Because they didn't look like the rest."
