The George Renninger thread was going in the Johnny Crawford direction so I thought I would start another thread. I was lucky enough to have Johnny's family lend me their considerable collection to scan. Here is some of it. Some I've posted before, some new.

As usual any and all comments are welcome.

I'll start with Johnny's last ride in his son in laws sprinter.

Here is Johnny showing up with his driving suit and helmet in a shopping bag.

Here is the bag with a note that was tucked in all the books and pictures.

Did I tell you how honored I was to borrow this collection.

This car belonged to Joe Borich of Sunbury. Joes son, Joe later won a sprint Car championship at Selinsgrove.

One of the best drivers and best racing families in sprint car racing.

Johnny, Johnny Jr., Billy, the Andersons

Like NASCAR's Allison family, only better; and from Bloomsburg!

Fantastic photos.   Right around the time I was a know it all kid helping pack wheel bearings and pull motors on theTrone car. Although I don't remember Johnny driving, George Weaver was the driver. My best memories of Johnny were in the Red #3.

Is the white #96 modified on the back of the truck the old Johnny Lux #39 ? After Jackie Evans was killed at Reading in the Johnny Lux #77, Mr. Lux returned to racing with a maroon #39 which looks very much like the white #96.

The blue 43 was housed about a 1/2 mile from where I grew up. I don't remember Johnny driving this car, Walt Specht was the driver I remember most. Wilmer Kratzer was the owner and my uncle worked on the car. Later on my uncle became a car owner with drivers Billy Shipman and Check Adams driving the car.

I can tell you RT 522 in the town of Kreamer turned into a drag strip about midnight on most Saturday nights in the summer. All those great muscle cars sounded so good to a motor head kid.

Can I ask who your uncle was? My think my dad worked on this car as well. He also was part owner of another car Walt drove in the era (#89).

Here is another pic of the famous 43 from Kreamer. I think I posted before.
