Dose anyone know who build this #880? Alao who is the #96 in the background?

Not 100% sure but I do know he drove for Emrich as a sponsor for a short time after Johnny left so this could be end of the year fall of 1962 as you said. I do remember at least once he actually drove the Emrich 1 coupe at Susky. Can't remember why or if it was 62 or early 63.1080 wrote:Just noticed a slight oddity on Abel's car....Emrich Chevrolet on the roof? GoShow? I know Abel drove the flathead 1080 in 1960-61ish..
I always remember Gohn Jewelers on the 2's.
Actually Richard Howsare, Gary's brother, is restoring this car as we speak. The Howsare's can tell the story better but this was their first 5H purchased from either June or Roy. The car was damaged and was sat aside in the day. Turned out a blessing as the only 5H to be saved by the family. Legend has it, the car sat in one of Richard's farm buildings at his home between Bedford and Cumberland for years and that not too many people even knew it was there.bubbano1 wrote:this 880 was sold to gary howsare of everett and is being restored by howsare. i gave jr. ritchey 5 or 6 photos of this car when we had supper at path valley about 2month ago.
