Ok, I did some research and found Rick Russell first start at Port was July 10 th, 1971 in car #45. He started last in the first heat. I think he drove for his Dad.

Could be, I remember he was pretty young when he started racing.

I saw that too.....odd in that time for Fletcher not to have a Ford...

Indeed a Chevy in this pic. It may have been late 1967 or 1968. I think Harry got their 1st sprint car in 1969 and had Chevy power according to what my Dad had told me.

This Fletcher 66 was new in 1967 and was Ford powered. It may have run the first year Ford powered. I remember the first night it came to Port Royal with the small block Chevrolet engine; it was some time during the year either 67 or 68. I think this car ran at least part of the 1969 season. Correct me if I’m wrong.
