Bob thomas 82 car.
Anyone know if this car was the old tiger 2 car that Mitch ran in early 1966?

Evidently this is not the old tiger car, although it sure looks like it. I spoke with Thomas and he said the 82 was built for him.

I always thought that the Flying Tiger 2 (first one) was the Wales #83 that Milford got hurt in at Susky in 1965. The cars are almost identical. I also thought that this 83 car was Roger Sowers new 83 car at the very end of 1964 with some sheet metal changes. Some of these cars are real close and maybe it was the same builder for all of them?
The seats, gauge locations, bars, etc. etc. are identical.

One thing I remember about the 82 was the main frame on the car ran under the rear end housing, unlike most cars that were over top of the rear housing. Correct me if I’m wrong.

yes, the 83 from late 64 tied Abel in a race at lincoln. Was at the Grove 64 national for the afternoon show. A neat looking car. The cutdown 83 that Wales crashed at Susky was at the labor day race at port in 65, not sure if wales was still the driver.

I have a picture somewhere of the 83 after Wales crashed it, I need to find it and post it. I always notice the crowd at Susky back in the 60's. The place was always packed.
