Buildy I saw this car run a few times Sam Traylor always brought 2 car with him and very nice tow rigs ( I think he owned motels ) He was sort of an early Al Hamilton..

Sam Traylor owned two hotels in Allentown. The Fairgrounds Hotel and the Traylor Hotel. He had as many as three sprint cars at once, but had cut to 1 by 1958 and sold it after the season (championship win) to Ken Hickey.

When I was a mere lad we lived real close to Eddie Sachs out at Center Valley. I used to fish in the small stream that was behind the bar/club where he worked. My dad's friend Sam turned wrenches on Jake Vargo's cars. When Eddie died Sam basically walked away from the sport and never came back.
To think **** Linder and Van Johnson were killed in the same car in what seemed like very survivable wrecks. Although Linder went out of the park at Trenton, it was not a real bad crash. When he landed at he was sitting upright in the car and no one thought he was badly hurt.
Later Jake Vargo had the car and he had a driver killed in it at Langhorne. The car is today in the Eastern Museum of Motor Racing. Steve Bubb

Hugh Randall was the third driver killed in the Vargo car. 1962
The car was sold and raced in URC. It was Sam Traylor's originally. Al Keller drove it in the 1955 500 and was involved in the Vukovich accident.

The car in the museum is a Kurtis K4000 chassis and only competed at Indy in '56. The '55 chassis involved in Vuky's wreck was a KK2000
