i read a bunch of posts on twitter recently about how good the match was between Punk and Jericho. while it was a very good match its still nothing like it used to be. i think they thought it was so great becuase for so long there hasnt been much "wrestling" going on. The intro for RAW keeps getting longer and longer and its getting tired. They have way too many people on the mic that shouldnt be on it too.
The match this past week between Jericho and Daniel Bryan was very good too---good to see but they gotta get back to the way it was during the "attitude era" with Stone Cold/Taker/the McMahans/Foley, etc.
Now I know while most of these names will not be back theyve got to get some **** talent out there that rivals that of the past.
ok...done venting....

haven't watched regularly for a LONG time. happened to stop while flipping thru channels and it's like i don't know anyone anymore and it sure doesn't seem to be anything i'd enjoy watching again. about a year ago i did the same thing and had to ask someone what the he!! a shamus was (besides someone that needs a little sun). where's bruno, professor toru tanaka, mr fuji, tony garea, dean ho and stan stasiak, ivan putski, haystacks calhoun and my personal favoirte chief jay strongbow.

Wrestlemania 29 in MetLife Stadium...

Rock vs Cena version 3,214....

Thought that was going to gain more viewers. Same old sh*t from the writers in the WWE. Both Cena & The Rock need to go. Pretty bad, I have not watched a full PPV in over a year, and THIS is the main event at WM. :ahhhh:

If the tickets you had were NOT to Wrestlemania 29, and they had THIS exact Main Event set to go, would you have bought tickets or sold the tickets you had purchased previously before knowing it was Rock vs Cena for the umpteenth time?

Nope. I have no problem seeing the 2 wrestle again. With all the other matches and just to be at my 2nd Wrestlemania is enough for me.

True. There are alot of other matches to look forward too. I guess I am not much of a Cena fan (as I'm sure you can tell). But I did hear he is a cool dude backstage. But wwwhhyyyyy....have a character where it seems like its the 'same ol' thing' over and over again???? ...see my point?

Oh I agree trust me. I was a big Cena fan 10 yrs ago. Now I take him for what he is, and that's this generations Hulk Hogan. My wife is dying to see the Rock, and for me CM Punk and Danial Bryan are the guys who I am most looking to see. Them and Brock Lesner

Probably the reason why Cena's character has remained the same might have something to do with the enormous amount of work he does with the Make-A-Wish foundation. It would be hard to have him 'turn heel' while trying to be a positive, uplifting part of so many young kids' lives. Just my 2 cents ;)

I do miss the 'attitude era', though....especially 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin :cheers2: :cheers2:

Bill, CM Punk is awesome. He might not have the size of other wrestlers like Cena, The Rock, or Lesnar, but he does have something that helps put him over WAY more than the other big names....

Mic skills.

You know he is always going to have something different to ramble on, unlike The Rock or Cena. The same riddles & rhymes.

...and as far as Stone Cold goes, in the ring & mic skills (much like you saw Jericho at The Rumble), they would probably put Cena & The Rock to shame with the way they "shoot".

Agree 100% with what you just said. The guy is amazing with all that he does away from the ring. Had the pleasure of meeting him 1 time at a car show in Baltimore and to watch him greet every fan like they where long lost friends of his was pretty cool to see.

I must be the only person on earth who does not miss the Attitude Area. While it was fun , it also brought in less wrestling and more talking, and I for one like to see wrestling on a wrestling show.

The 90's did issue in more talking, & I agree, I'd rather see more wrestling, but I also remember a lot of 80's tv shows featuring stars of the time all taking on helpless jobbers...so match quality has improved in that sense. However, I do like watching some of the 'squash' matches from the 80's on Youtube...you gotta hand it to some of those guys who just took a beating every week and never won a match!!

Not sure if I'd call any of that "wrestling". It's more like a combination of acrobatics, gymnastics and acting but it does take a lot of skill and training and I'm sure it takes it's toll on the body. Real wrestling is what you'll see this weekend in Hershey.
