That 4th photo is terriffic! Weld's Gremlin, Paul Pitzer's Weikert sprinter, and Frankie Schnieder"s sedan. The history and memories these 3 machines had. :clap:

I remember in the early seventies Kenny was running Reading! I thought the car was #29 and sponsored by Weikerst's Livestock???????????????????????????????

I've seen that car too. I think the #29 is in the DIRT Museum. I remember watching This Week On DIRT with Doug Logan and that car was in the background behind his shoulder a lot.

1974 was the first year Kenny built his first mod creation. It was Weikerts #29. It had inboard coil-over, using front and rear canilever torson arms. I remember Kenny stopping in at Toby Tobias Speed Shop after the '73 season, to take a look at Toby's latest modified creation. Mid-way throught the "73 season, Toby built a '65 mustang #17 light blue modified with inboard front coils, inner door wings, and some other new inovations, which he raced at the end of the season. Ronnie Tobias would begin driving this car in '74. While working at the shop, I helped build that car and was there the day when Kenny asked Toby if he could take a look and take some measurements because he was going to build a modified for Weikert and race Reading. I'll never forget Toby telling me to take Kenny over to the bay where we kept the car and assist him. While Toby was my childhood hero, employer, and mentor.... Kenny was one of the many other drivers I always admired, so it was an honor for a kid like me, who was just starting out in racing, to pick up whatever knowledge I could from a guy like Kenny Weld. I know he build and drove a few variations of modified cars which he sold... I think one year he drove a yellow MK#11.. In 1977, I raced against him at Reading and he drove his all white #91 (I think he just raced on and off on Sunday nights that year).. That car had a drop front rail frame design with torsoin bar suspension. I don't remember the year of the car restored and pictured at the show...thought it was one of his last designs. Like Toby....Kenny was a heck of an inovator.
