Thanks RT88! I've been reading up on Sam and his racing endeavors. The best part for me on shooting a vintage event, I always learn something new and come away with a greater appreciation of the history of racing.

I don't see Bill Holland in that picture, but Al Keller has the hat on. Mussleman isn't in it either.

Yeah, the guy I received the photo from has it marked on the back with the names. I went off of what he had written down. Cannot miss Sam Traylor. When I was a kid we lived outside Allentown for a while, in fact real close to Eddie Sachs. My early years were full of stories about Sam and Jake Vargo. My dad and Jake became good friends and he used to fill me in on Jake's happenings.

Good to see the 55 wasn't roughed up too bad after it went through a fence post there the night before (note the scratches on the windscreen). Paxton later told the owner of the car the he just happened to hit the only gold plated fence post on the Latimore Fair Grounds

The Traylor cars are beautiful with a great history. If you missed the round table discussion with Sam's wife a few years ago you missed a good one. Sam owned one of the original AC Cobra's and last I knew they still had it. She said Sam loved to drive that car. :cheers2:

The cars will be on display at the Wheels of Speed museum in Allentown for the next year.

Nice set!

But there is something about that second shot that really makes it stand out....excellent shot!
