That's me and my dad Kenny Rose with the red TRW/Joe Amato cordoroy caps on. Dad was the engine builder for the Kreuzberg team. He was for the Fletcher's too. Hence, they usually parked side-by-side. This was from the Grove opener in 1988.

... are you combining Maple Grove with Wm. Grove Nat'ls?

... this has been the best thread/topic ever on this board
Unfortunately, I won't be combining Maple Grove & Williams Grove. Can't afford both, and I've never missed an NHRA National Event at Reading so I'm doing what I can to keep that streak going. This will be my 29th straight. Sadly, it's my 6th now without Dad.
I do need to correct that those were the Amato Racing hats, but not TRW. It was in the TRW days, but they were Keystone Automotive Warehouse hats. From 1988 through 1991, we got in to that event with free tickets from Amato with a few thousand others.
And after thinking about that pic, It wasn't the Grove opener. I think it was week 3 or 4 because Toll House Restaurant hadn't been lettered on the wing for the opener or 2nd race. It was just K1. I think that day the pic was taken, Daryl finished 8th after running 3rd most of the feature. A late restart happened, and he got a little too low in the slick stuff coming off of turn 2.
