Both of the previous Outlaw Tuneups were rained out this year.

I hope so.... I think the WoO format could be adapted using point standings instead of time trials for weekly programs too.

I think so also the first 3 in points earned the right to start 4th in a heat. Last week you had Hodnett, Dietrich, and Rahmer all on the front row of a heat. Lucky draws, but all three of those heats were a complete runaway.

Using that format without time trials (based on season points) may work if you add in only the last 3 race average. Without that, the lower teams will never make the feature invert. (it would lock in the top 16 in points to the front of the heats). I think with more thought, this could become a workable system...

Just gave it more thought... Line up the heats by last 3 race average , kill the dash . Then line up the feature by season points (same as now).
Instead of inverting the woo top 16, you need to vary it based on car count.(based on number of heats, top 4 or 6 in each heat from the last 3 races (points average) inverted) , then line up the ensuing cars in the heats by their pill draw.

Top 12 Qualifiers line up the same as now for the feature
