I wanted to know if anyone has any information or leads on who i could contact to purchase old racing magazines.

The magazines i'm looking for is an old magazine called, "Man and Wheel", at least i believe that is according to my father. I'm looking for a magazine that my father was on the front cover sometime between 75 and 77.

He was flipping at Hagerstown with who ever was driving Dyers car at the time, and according to him the caption read, "Which parts belong to which car."

If anyone has any knowledge of purchasing on of these "man and wheel " mags, it would be much appreciated.

thanks

They might be having a swap meet at Latimore Fairgrounds this weekend. Usually there are one or two individuals selling older magazines. There were two selling this summer and had some programs from that era. I'd say you have a good chance of getting one.

Man and Wheel was put out by Tri-State Speed Press, a racing paper out of College Park, Md. I have the issue you are talking about. The photo is on page 79 and is in color. It shows the #6 and the #461 both pointed upward.

Sometimes you can find these books on eBay and they probably have a copy at EMMR.
Let me know if you don't find it and I'll copy that page.

I forgot to add, the issue you are looking for is the 4th Annual Man and Wheel - 1977 Auto Racing Yearbook by Tri-State Speed Press.
It has four photos on the cover, top one is Bobby Allison and his #21 Nova, next is dirt LM Camaros #41 Charlie Johnson & #100 Larry Gorman, next is #88 Darrel Waltrip and bottom is #19 Steve Smith at Reading.
The books were always broken into 4 categories: Late Models on asphalt, Modifieds, Super Sprints and Late Models on dirt.

These yearbooks came out 4 different years.
