Just saw a tweet from the CJB motorsports team (Paul McMahon)....evidently, the track is too bad and the team has decided not to race tonight! That doesn't sound good for racing tonight if more follow suite...

At least they are racing....

Dave Blaney wins!

I read that 8 of the outlaws decided not to race because of track conditions.

From the pictures I had saw via Twitter, the track itself seemed a bit heavy. Granted it was brand new clay on the surface & a ton of rain didn't help either. Bubba (w/ a little help from the crowd), busted his butt to get that track into the best surface he could on Sunday night. He could have waited one more night to let the track dry out, but, you're already in the hole, missing 4 nights prior due to rain.

As far as the drivers choosing not to race, it's their prerogative. Most of the ones that chose not to run, are in it for the long 80+ race haul. It's the beginning of the season & on top of it, how many out of the ones that chose not to run (and a few ASCoC drivers that were missing entirely), will be in the running for All-Star points in October???? I'm not saying the drivers are right or wrong with their decisions, but you have to look at it in the long run of their schedules/season.

The fans should be glad they got to see a race Sunday evening.... :laughing7:

I don't blame the CJB team one bit. They are going full force this year for the WoO championship so why risk busting up equipment at an All Star race. Good call Barry!

Wasn't too bad to race on for 20 some other teams...Wimps......We all know the Outlaw drivers don't like heavy wet tracks. So I am not surprised. :shifty:

You think they would have thought of that before they showed up and bought pit passes

Typical Nugs response. He thinks Barry Jackson is a god and worships the ground he walks on. :poking: :handoverhead:

Track owner Bubba had a nice tweet to McMahan about Barry Jackson :cwm4: Hats off to the teams who raced both nights and put a show on for the fans.

I'm not going to hold it against the outlaw guys who opted not to compete. They have the bigger picture in mind. Its not worth going out on a garbage track surface taking an elevated risk of busting up a car before the Outlaw season even starts. Especially for $3000 to win. Of course Bubba had to jump on twitter and act like a classless jerk. In the end he only screwed himself because he had 3 nights of racing before the Outlaw season starts and most of the Outlaw guys ran those races which basically means he gets Outlaw shows without paying the Outlaw sanction fee. No surprise he only had 24 cars tonight. I sure as hell wouldn't give him my support if I were them. That being said, I did gain some respect for those who raced. That took some gonads.

Just a waste of pit fees to show up and not race. You're there might as well try and gain that money back.

The only thing I didn't quite understand was why they showed up and unloaded to begin with. After all the rain that fell in the area, I'm not sure what they expected. They had to know that IF there even was a race, that track conditions were gonna be questionable at best. That being said, I completely understand why the ones who chose to not race did what they did.
