For comparison sake, how many show up for the WOO shows, esp the National Open?

My guess for The National Open would have to be around 10,000. I think its a pretty high guess, I'd like to know the exact number that attended this past years National Open. If anyone has it, and could post it would be greatly appreciated.

Also, the attendance of Metallica's tour at Williams Grove on 6/15/1994.... amazing to learn that Metallica played The Grove. :jiggy:

I wish I could've been at that Metallica show. I was a bit young probably but they were my favorite band then and still are now

Ive seen Metallica once, and that is enough to suit me. I love Metallica, one of the best ever, but I do not feel the need to see them again.... well, maybe if I get the chance I probably would not pass it up. LOL

Here's a question, was anyone from this forum at that show back in 1994? :cheers2:

I was there! Suicidal Tendencies and Danzig as opening bands. Metallica entered the grounds via helicopter. Landed in the front stretch pit area. They were parking cars in the field behind 1 and 2 clean up to the upper camping area.

That is not the biggest crowd in Grove history. They had a stock car race that drew around 49,000. Lynn Paxton said it was so big they had about 50 people standing on the roof of the old turn three infield bathrooms. Once again, as always , great post Al!

Danzig is kind of a 'one hit wonder' to me, but Metallica & Suicidal Tendencies would've been awesome to see at the Grove!! :super: :headbanger:
