Port Camping

Post by BAMAchubby » Sat Apr 19, 2014 11:09 am

Looking at camping at Port Royal this weekend for the All Stars. Looked on the site and it said that they charge $20 for camping at the fairgrounds. Is this the only place to camp? Or can you camp on the Speedway property or is this the same thing?

Same thing, the speedway is on the Fairgrounds. You will likely be camped within 200 yards or less from the track.

There is a large parking/camping lot just past the Elementary School on the left. I don't know if that is $20 or free. I know inside the chain link fence surrounding the speedway is $20

Crazy question. I know on Port Royal's website they state there are no hookups available for campers, but is there a dumping station available? I the fairgrounds at Crawford county have a dumping station and if so is it available to the campers?

Camping inside the fairgrounds is $20. In there you can get electricity. Free camping is in the field past the ball field. Right now , Port is the best track to camp at. You have several choices where you'd like to be and there is plenty of room if you want to be quiet and secluded.

Brent, Do you have to reserve to camp inside and have electricity? Where do you camp inside the track fence? Longtime Port goer, but just got a camper. I never payed much attention, since I didn't have one. Thanks

Some camping spots inside are reserved , but it's not required. The camping areas are between the office trailer and the pit area. Pretty much all are perfectly level and shaded.

And if you don't have a campfire , you are welcome at almost any one you see .
