56 DATES ON 2008 WILLIAMS GROVE SCHEDULE

     MECHANICSBURG, PA -- The 2008 schedule for Williams Grove Speedway
has been released and it is the most ambitious ever for this historic
racetrack which has been in existence since 1939.
     No less than 56 dates comprise the schedule with winged, 410 c.i.
sprint cars listed as the featured attraction on 37 occasions.
     Sprint car racing will be the sole attraction on opening day, which
is set for Sunday afternoon, February 24.
     Sunday afternoon racing will continue through March 16 before the
switch to night time racing begins on Friday, March 21.
     Many special events dot the 2008 schedule with the much anticipated
return of the wingless USAC sprint cars set for Wednesday evening, June 4.
     The World of Outlaws, the sport's premier traveling sprint car
circuit, will once again make three stops at Williams Grove in 2008.  
All three will be two-day events.
     The season's first WoO appearance will be on Thursday and Friday,
May 15-16.  The Summer Nationals will be presented on Friday and
Saturday, July 18-19, and the National Open is set for Friday and
Saturday, September 26-27.
      Some of the other sprint car specials  will include the Tommy
Classic on April 25, the Keystone Cup race May 23, a visit by the All
Stars on June 13, the Mitch Smith Memorial July 4, and the Jack Gunn
Memorial Triple 20s on August 15.
     The 360 Nationals sanctioned by URC is scheduled for June 6.
'     In addition to sprint cars, other divisions which will compete at
Williams Grove this season will include the 358 c.i. sprints, midgets,
super sportsman cars, 305 sprints, 600 cc micro sprints, limited late
models, street stocks, enduro cars and 4-cylinder stock cars.
     The Saturday Night Series with super sportsman cars as the featured
attraction will begin its third season on March 29.
