WILLIAMS GROVE RAINED OUT AGAIN
MECHANICSBURG, PA - For the second week in succession rain forced
cancellation of the Friday night races at Williams Grove Speedway.
With full fields of sprints and late models in the pit area, the rain began
to fall. With no end in sight, speedway officials were forced to cancel the
program a half hour later.
This was the fifth weather-related cancellation of the 2008 racing season.
The sprint cars and limited (358 c.i.) sprints will return to the Grove on
Friday evening, April 18.
The late models will have one final date at the speedway on Friday evening,
May 9, which will also include the first of two visits by the All Star sprints.
With three sprint car races in the book this season three different drivers
have visited victory lane.
Fred Rahmer won the opener on March 9. World of Outlaws point leader Craig
Dollansky won on March 21, and defending 358 champion Pat Cannon claimed his
first victory in 410 competition on March 28.
